How to choose your first vibrator
A good first vibrator is small, made of silicone, rechargeable and quiet. A bullet or a small clitoral toy covers most first-time needs, costs the least, and is the easiest to clean. Choose a larger or internal toy only once you know what kind of stimulation you enjoy.
Which type of vibrator should a beginner buy?
Start with external stimulation. A mini bullet or an egg is small enough to use anywhere on the body, cheap enough to be a low-risk first buy, and simple to hold. Clitoral suction toys, sold here as rose or sucking vibrators, give a different, pulsing sensation that many people prefer to plain vibration.

What material is safe?
Silicone is the standard for body-safe toys: it is non-porous, so it does not hold bacteria, it has no smell, and it cleans with warm water and mild soap. ABS plastic, often used for bullets, is also non-porous and safe. Avoid anything described as jelly or rubber, which can be porous and hard to clean.
Rechargeable or battery?
Rechargeable is better for almost everyone. USB charging means no batteries to buy or run out at the wrong moment, and rechargeable motors are usually stronger and quieter. Battery toys make sense only as a very cheap first try. Most of the vibrators we stock charge over USB.
How loud are they?
Small bullets and silicone toys with a rechargeable motor are the quietest. Larger, cheaper or battery-powered toys tend to buzz more. If noise matters, choose a rechargeable silicone toy and use it under a duvet the first time to judge.
What lubricant should I use with a vibrator?

How do I clean and store it?
